Today's field note from Sgt. Puppy and the morning watch at Camp Puppy Haven, Vermont.

The in-laws left this morning. They drove up Friday for Memorial Day. They brought a cooler the size of a refrigerator and a kayak that didn't fit the car. This is Camp Puppy Haven, Vermont.
It was Tuesday, May 26th. The black flies were thick in Camp Puppy Haven. We were working the morning watch out of Existential Dread Mitigation. My partner's Doris. The boss is Captain Otis. My name's Puppy.
A woman was on the porch reviewing the visit in her head. Doris had already filed her report. The visit was fine.
Sgt. Puppy's Field Notes are published most weekday mornings.
