It was Wednesday, July 22nd. It was mild in Camp Puppy Haven, partly sunny, mid-seventies. We were working the day watch out of Slow Afternoon Detail. My partner's The Goose. The boss is Lieutenant Ella. My name's Puppy.
A man kept checking the radar for a storm that wasn't coming. The sky was doing fine on its own. So was the dog.
