Today's field note from Sgt. Puppy and the morning watch at Camp Puppy Haven, Vermont.

It was Friday, August 28th. It was forty-nine degrees at dawn in Camp Puppy Haven, seventy-seven by mid-afternoon. We were working the day watch out of Jacket Morning Detail. My partner's Doris. The boss is Lieutenant Clove. My name's Puppy.

Sgt. Puppy's Field Notes are published most weekday mornings.
