Today's field note from Sgt. Puppy and the morning watch at Camp Puppy Haven, Vermont.

The first cut of hay went down in the river field this week. The tractors ran till dark and the whole valley smells like it. This is Camp Puppy Haven, Vermont.
It was Thursday, June 25th. It was warm and fair in Camp Puppy Haven. We were working the day watch out of Nap Enforcement. My partner's Doris. The boss is Captain Vera. My name's Puppy.
A man kept checking the radar to see if the hay would make it before rain. There was no rain. Doris was asleep in the cut grass, already sure.
Sgt. Puppy's Field Notes are published most weekday mornings.
