It was Monday, September 28th. It was fifty degrees and gray in Camp Puppy Haven, rain coming off the hills by noon. We were working the day watch out of Boot Tray Detail. My partner's Dave. He's new. He brought a stuffed platypus. The boss is Captain Hatch. My name's Puppy.
A woman was already worried about Thursday. Thursday hadn't happened yet. We stayed with the rain.
Sgt. Puppy's Field Notes are published most weekday mornings.
