Another B&B opened up near the covered bridge. A couple from down Connecticut way. They called it "The Mudroom." The actual mudroom was unimpressed. This is Camp Puppy Haven, Vermont.
It was Monday, May 11th. The gnats were out in force. We were working the morning watch out of Phone-In-The-Hand Task Force. My partner's Dave. He's new. The boss is Lieutenant Pickles. My name's Puppy.
A guest at the B&B was on the phone with someone called "the contractor." His wife was on the porch swatting gnats. The resident dog had retreated to the actual mudroom. We started with the dog.
