Today's field note from Sgt. Puppy and the morning watch at Camp Puppy Haven, Vermont.

A man from New Hampshire was photographing the honor stand on Muddy Hill Lane. The strawberries. The cash box. The handwritten prices. He had been there twenty minutes. This is Camp Puppy Haven, Vermont.
It was Friday, June 5th. It was warm in Camp Puppy Haven, clouds and rain coming in from the west. We were working the day watch out of Phone-In-The-Hand Task Force. My partner's Doris. The boss is Captain Otis. My name's Puppy.
A man was worried about the weekend. The weekend hadn't done anything yet. Doris and I had already checked. We started with the man.
Sgt. Puppy's Field Notes are published most weekday mornings.
